Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I had 2 servings of peach cobbler last week.... with ice cream! That was my treats for the week. :-)
Aunt Cheryl knows I'm a peach cobbler freak. She bought me 2 servings from a local restaurant as a surprise for 4th of July weekend. :-)

South Beach, except for the first phase, is mostly just a matter of eliminating processed foods, sugar, and white flour. And see, I think I can handle it past the first phase. Must be some repressed childhood memory but the thought of tomato juice or that vegetable juice stuff just makes me gag.

A fellow food conniseur here at work (he's the genius PhD candidate that I would like to set Jen up with) just brought me some of this:

Lindt chocolate They make an 85% chocolate bar, too. The 70% is making my head spin.

But, when I start eatin' 'em, I'm an addict. I eat stuff I don't even like - just for the sugar! I understand. It's like an addiction. I can't just say I'm going to eat less sugar. I have to eliminate it completely.

One serving = 11 net carbs. (3.25" x 3.00")
I ate half a serving and have a headache. That is serious chocolate.

Well, I'm off to the thrift store. It's been a while and they should have some new items in that I will need to peruse. I never know what good deal I'll find...
At least I'll get some more measuring spoons and such. I never have enough of them...they are like 5 cents a piece and I just buy all I can because I HATE reaching for a measuring item and don't have what I need!
I also like to buy the old "Anchor Hocking" Microware...
Anyway, it gets my shopping bug out for very little cost. See ya later!

And see, I think I can handle it past the first phase. Must be some repressed childhood memory but the thought of tomato juice or that vegetable juice stuff just makes me gag. You don't have to follow the meal plans! And if you don't like tomato juice or V-8, you don't have to drink it.
There's a list of foods you can have, and it's pretty extensive. You can just stick with that list...it's much simpler than using the recipes they have in the book.
