Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's from my uncle... he got a bunch of great shots of the plane. In this one I photoshopped out some unknown child running along the edge of the water.

My computer at home is dead, which is a relief to freepers everywhere, I'm sure. :^) I don't know when I'll be able to get another.

ecurbh and I are having some much needed down time today. We're still a little catatonic from the week!
Checking in, though.... I see on another thread (here) that Matt Maupin, taken prisoner back in April, has maybe now been killed... And Graybeard says this is a member of the same unit, and known to our smaagee. Sorry to hear of this smaagee.
Prayers for his family, and prayers for all our soldiers over there, that they remain safe and successful in their mission.
What's the feeling on the street there today smaagee? Anything different than yesterday?

I'm glad you brought it here to the thread. We can rally around our fellow Hole Dwellers, if needed.
I'm going over to my mom's here in a sec to watch the news...

I'm at work, but mainly counting the hours myself (moreso than usual). Lots on my mind, mainly the fact that wife will be home tonite.
Will be good to get the Stormhands household back to normal...or at least our concept of normal.
'Course Jr. flies off to Brazil next Thursday...

Didn't mean to seem callous there. There are far more important things happening in the world than the latest episode of "The Stormhands Family: A Sit-Com Gone Horribly Wrong." ;-)
WN and 300wm, I checked in with my cousin to see if he'd heard from his son (Josh). He hasn't in about three weeks. Josh said then "things are more intense." I was checking to see if he'd gotten the packages. If I hear, I'll let you know.

Absolutely, regarding the double or single legal length doubles or singles, but I was wondering about the older vintage doubles, not the damascus variety as those have well discussed elsewhere. These shells produce modern SAAMI-standard pressures. They are NOT low-pressure loads. But if an old shotgun is safe with other modern ammo, it will be safe with these.

Never callous, you need to keep us up to date or we'd be lost!... Your wife being overseas is a hugh event. I hope you'll post pictures she took and stories she tells... Our whole lives are still going on... The important and unimportant, the fun and the funny, mixed with news of the inconceivable and intolerable.
Heck.... while others do important things, I put my wedding dress on one of my bears and gave her to Sam.... who wears my elven cloak and broach.
I mean.... what else am I going to do with that girly weddin' stuff? ;~D

Never callous, you need to keep us up to date or we'd be lost!... Oh, I know. Just thought the timing could've been better. I'm always editing my life to make it read better.
We've moved the wife's wedding dress (neatly packed away) with us everywhere we've lived. Not really sure why.
But here's a new one for ya. S-i-l that had the heart episode this weekend was attending her stepson's wedding (that by itself is fodder for a sit com). The bridesmaids (and I have no idea how many) were all wearing their own wedding dresses...
