Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've been in love with "Frog" since 1977! What do the French have to do with Linda Ronstadt?

May you be filled with the Holy Spirit on Sunday, and give those folks what the Lord wants them to have!

I said... ecurbh, not sure that is what your mom meant when she asked if we had found a church-home yet. Never mind the bulletin board...what did you tell your mother-in-law?
To: HairOfTheDog
We actually tried a "home-church" once.
The hosts actually worked for "Vector Marketing", and tried to sell us cutlery after the "service".
Words could not express my shock, dismay, rage, and complete bewilderment.

Thanks Suzi!
I'll either get confused looks, congratulations, or curses!
Either way, I know I'm doing the right thing!

To: RMDupree
One sunday earlier this year, part of our pastor's sermon was relating LOTR to everyday life. It was very interesting.

Sounds like your church could use a little of this
http://www.openchurch.com/
When I was stationed in Georgia, I attended a church that had a traditional service sunday mornings and an open service Sunday nights, where all the chairs were in a semi-circle like what you described. It was great.

Fedora: Good to meet you! If interested in my screenname, click on it for an explanation.
Ruthie: Doing fine, good to see you again.
As far as moving the chairs, as a papist, it reminds me of the change in the altar and the altar rail. I'll never get over that. And don't get me started on the liturgy!!!
