Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Morning Corin - Yes it is Friday, and I took the day off. Yessssss. Let's see how shall I spend my day? I'm sure I'll think of something. :-)

Yup; the first one this year was when Ruthie came to town and LSA, Ruthie, OT and I had the FL-KS-MO mini-moot. No such plans this time.
There's plenty of 'adventures' to hear about, though. OT in NC, Jen in CO, Rosie in Canada, G'nad in IA. Crisscrossing the country they are.

Crisscrossing indeed. Everything is set in motion.
(yet another) Gardening question. We've got these small (about an inch and a half) caterpillars eating EVERYTHING. They've gone from the herbs to the 4 o'clocks and yesterday Nana saw them on the tomatoes. They're light yellow with a bright orange head.
I've used Bug-B-Gon and Sevin. Anything else I can use?
I'm about ready to capture one of the critters and take him to one of the local nurseries to see what they recommend.

Morning Hobbit Hole!!
I'm hoping to finish things up early today so I can start my weekend sooner! *grin*
I wish I could do ~something~ rather than just hang around the house though. Alas, I have paid my bills and that equals no fun money for a bit.
Anyone have any ideas on what's fun and free?

have "pamper-my-self" day...take a bubble bath, do you toes
or go to a local park and have a picnic, walk some trails
re-arrange your bedroom or living room. That always makes me feel like I got a new place :-)
wash your car with the hose, play in the water and then go for a ride with the windows down....

Nah, then I'd just have to fill out a report...

I took some night time cold medicine last night and just conked out around 11pm. Woke up about 3 thinking I'd heard a door slam. Not unusual; #2 son tends to stay up late, but is usually pretty quiet. Got up to go to the bathroom and looked out the window cause we were having a hellacious thunderstorm. I saw someone in our back yard by the fence we'd set up to hide Gimli (the backhoe/frontloader). Gimli was in the middle of the back yard cause SSQ and David had been working on him earlier.
Anyway, as I watched, I realized the person in the back yard was Clare! I couldn't figure out why in the world she was out there in the middle of a storm, then I saw David, and realized that they were trying to get the tarp off the fence so that they could cover Gimli to protect him from the weather! They were out there for almost 15 minutes in a horizontal rain and lightning every 10 seconds or so!
They got him covered, then when they came in, I reminded David that Gimli had been sitting uncovered in the back yard for almost 2 months! He felt a little sheepish....Crazy kids; must get it from they Daddy! ;o)

heheheh....I forgot to add: "with a 6 year old and 2 year old"
What you posted was what I ~had~ planned, until my ex decided he wanted to go out of town rather than stick to his visitation schedule. *sigh*

Oh well then, rules out "bungling."

Squash a few of the bugs, put them in water and spray the plants with the mixture. Another thing I've read is to create a spray with cayenne pepper powder. Must give the bugs indigestion, or the runs or something.;o)

I've got some pepper spray that I used to get rid of the chipmunks. I'll try that.
Then again, squashing the little suckers might be fun too.
