The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, you gotta admit that cute animals are harder to kill than ugly ones.

No... they aren't harder to kill. They taste *much* better!!!!

Maybe, in some cases. Like cows are cuter than frogs, but steaks are better than frogs legs. :-)

But I doubt seal tastes better than pork! And pigs aren't really ~cute~ anyway.

Wow... sounds like a great event. Kudos.

Archery from a wheelchair... sounds like it was a truly great thing. Next: Shotguns. :-)

Okay... she just told me that it won't be this weekend after all.... her hubby just told her something else. He is trying to meet up with some guy over there to buy a boat and has to get over there at the right time to get that boat. It might be next weekend instead.

It's all part of the "putting smiles on faces" thing that you alluded to earlier.

It's great work, and more worthwhile than most of the things we do. Of this I'm sure. Kudos to you.

YIKES! No snakes for me, thanks. Although I heard rattlers are good eatin'! *wink*

I got to hold a gun (actually several different kinds) for the first time in my life at WeddingMoot! They're a lot heavier than I imagined, but way cooler than I thought they'd be!

I can't wait for Shootmoot/EntMoot 05 so I can actually fire one. Everyone just stand BACK! :-)
