Have wondered about Nosty's Christianity. He supposedly was into horoscopes etc. That's black art enough for me. At least the History channel show on him recently was pretty clear about that.
Anyway--I think how his quatrains are translated taking into account the French, Latin, and Greek components can be tricky.

His TRUE history regarding horoscopes was actually in reference to constellations. He was an astronomer as well as a physician. History has certainly been rewritten.
The translations are difficult, especially keeping the poetic nature intact. Transliteration doesn't work very well, as the same word could be used in more than one language, and may mean more than one thing.
I'll dig up some recommended reading if you're interested. I hate to see people such as Nostradamus, Charles Darwin, and even Edgar Allen Poe destroyed by false history.
