Yeah, Sirius definitely has more of the class snobbery going on, though he'd never admit it even to himself.

I guess I just need a few days for everything to sink in. Even though of course that memory was almost certainly biased...it still came as sort of a shock. Silly, isn't it?

Ok, picture this - my sister reading that passage aloud to the whole car full of siblings. Every time some revelation comes up, squeals of delight. A couple laughs at the bits about Sirius looking "bored, but handsomely so". And then... it goes into the Snivellus torture scene. Up until the moment Sirius went through the arch, that was the worst moment in the book. I'd spent four years building up bright shining Marauder-pictures. They were fun, naughty, but generally decent humans. And then that. I'm not really over it yet either.
