Word For The Day, Thurday, June 17, 2004
Thursday, June 17, 2004 | Slip 18

Posted on 06/17/2004 5:37:05 AM PDT by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Haven’t checked my mood ring yet. Y’all behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

Folderol, also Folderal noun:
Pronunciation: Pronounced about three different ways. Take your pick.
Etymology: Probably fr. Latin

1) Impractical, unnecessary or excessive trimming of finery or effects: pretty, but flimsy or useless ornament : something that is unnecessary: trifle, gewgaw
2) A nonessential talk or action: piffle, nonsense

No need to be sad, it's been 4 years and I'm starting to deal with it better than I have been.
She was 19, and I'd helped her get here driver's license.
She got a 1991 Dodge Shadow convertable blue with white pinstripes.
And, she was supposed to 'step-fathernap' me sometime around my 26th birthday and cause chaos by having me troubleshoot the convertible top.
(It was promised a small joyride cruise around the area with the convertible top down on the car. She was very proud of that car, and so the bragging promise of said ride.)

The Vet once gave Muttly Folderol...but when he wasn't looking, Muttly spat it out.

no, i agree with him. if i were home all day like mrs hobbes, i would consider it my job to do the housestuff. But we are both out all day and so laundry is a joint enterprise most weekends. stress notwithstanding.

I don't agree with him.

I'm home all day...but I do not put his clothes away.....and when he does laundry he doesn't put mine away, either. I'll hand shirts and trousers......but that's about it.

He arranges his drawers differently than I arrange mine - so I have no clue where he puts anything and same with him.

ok, that's valid. i would not want xshub putting my stuff away bc i might not find it again. that is very true. and that is not to say that i NEVER put his stuff away, bc i will do so on occasion. his drawers are pretty easy to figure out.

I know where his socks go (generally because I need to swipe a pair to put on me!) so I will occassionally put them away.........but usually he does the sock sorting so I rarely have that chore!!!

don't mind me - laundry is a sore subject with me at the moment because of the flies and fleas in this house...I've won the battle with the fleas (I think) but I've been doing a minimum of 2 loads a day and changing sheets every other day............and it's hot and sticky and today is the last day of school and jax will be home for the summer in about an hour..........

WAAAAAAAAAAAAH
