i am so sorry to hear it. i am not in any hurry for xsteen to get her learners permit and she was eligible for it in April. Luckily she isn't hounding for it either.
Scary part for me: step-daughter was an excellent driver, and actually got a car in skid conditions under control in under 3 seconds.
(89 VW Golf 2 door, full on spin on ice at 40MPH but admittedly under 'test/purposeful' conditions.)
I was very proud of her, so I had a bit of disbelief when I was told that she had been in a fatal car accident.
But tyhat was December 29, 2000 and life doesn't stop and wait for you.
So I've had to learn to deal with it more or less.
Doesn't make it hurt less, but you can at least live some.
She isn't in a hurry to drive?
Hmm.. seems odd to my experience.
Step-daughter wanted to drive for years, and she had it as a point of personal pride when she drove 'solo' the first time.
When xsteen does learn to drive, take her to a parking lot or deserted paved expanse and have her toss the car around. Also have her put the car into a skid and spin so that she knows what the car feels like before breaking free from the pavement.
