Godspeed Ronnie

Our smiling warrior Ronnie,
Has now achieved lightspeed,
Disappearing from our sensors,
But remembered for his creed.

He always was a lifesaver,
And watchful all the while,
With care for all the little ones,
He’d go the extra mile.

Just like an ancient Joshua,
He brought down a hated Wall,
And at an age when most retire,
He gave the job his all.

He brought new class to service,
And did it with a smile.
His sunny disposition,
Was with him all the while.

He even joked when wounded,
“Honey, I forgot to duck!”
Protected well by Providence,
He earned that bit of luck.

We’ll remember President Reagan,
With tears, and with a grin,
And when we need a man like him,
The boots to put him in.

And we’ll know we have the right one,
By watching when he prays,
Not for power over men,
But the grace of Ronnie’s plays.

For now, our prayers are with his wife,
His family, and his friends,
He went with style through all his days,
Up to the bitterest ends.

He’s launched now to another course,
With God his guiding light,
Rejoining Heaven, his reward,
And Godspeed in his flight.

It is a sad day for our country but as we all know, President Reagan is in a beautiful place. May God comfort his family.

Though our country mourns, we know that he is in a beautiful place surrounded by love and peace.

Please Father, comfort and bless Nancy and the family as they suffer this loss. Please hold Nancy in your loving embrace as she faces this difficult time. We ask this in Jesus Name. Amen
