I've not read Dracula. Not sure I want to try. I don't handle horror very well. I did read Frankenstein, but that wasn't really horror. I still found it creepy, but...

Well, the first few chapters aren't that creepy. I'm sort of doing vampire-myth research so I thought I'd start with a classic....

"Dracula" is a little scarier than "Frankenstein"--less SF and more horror. Incidentally they were both sort of inspired by a party the Shelleys and their friends had where they challenged each other to write a horror story. Mary W. Shelley came up with "Frankenstein" and one of their friends came up with a vampire story which later was an influence on "Dracula".
