Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I need to tear myself away soon here, too. I'm bad at that some evenings!

I am thinkin' that you, Ruthy and I have really wasted our time on this "beach-wear" thing. We are all 3 going to need thick long sleeves and pants!

Now there's an interesting idea... throwing complainers in the drink...
Just think how warm they'll feel by the time they swim to shore? :-)

Hmmmm. If you can freeze us at your wedding, then you should visit our climates! :-)

Hit 100 here on Monday... 'course, with the humidity, it felt like 110...
Still cool compared to Iraq, though, I suppose!

Well, I warned them. If I get anything over 60 without water coming out of the sky, I'll be happy and anyone who isn't will go in the drink. Up here, fair weather is a blessing not to be taken for granted!

Heh. Bring on the winter florals.
To: Wneighbor
I'd rather be cold than hot. You can always warm up in the cold, but you can't cool down in the heat.

My philosophy is that you can always put on another layer when you're cold, but there is only so much you can take off when you're hot.

I don't think I have winter florals.
I think most of my winter stuff is sweatshirts and long sleeved T-shirts that say "Harley Davidson" on them. Theme change.
