We just got a new mass spec in the lab this week. The boss is calling it "George". So everytime we talk about this instrument, I'm thinking: "Here is my little bunny rabbit 'George'. I will hug him, and hold him, and pet him, and squeeze him, 'cause he is my friend."

I'm almost done working with the client that makes mass specs. Yay! I've been doing this for a year and I still don't know what it does.

Soaking my feet. Gotta hair appt at 5:00pm.
Steve is home from the dentist...they referred him to a dental surgeon. I think it's because I went by there and mentioned that he has a tendency to faint and to call me if there was any problems. Suddenly they didn't want to do it.
He got some cavities filled. He's taking a nap now.

It busts yer compound into fragments and you can identify them by the mass/charge spectrum that comes out the other end. Or in our case, we know what compound (and it's m/e stuff) we're looking for and we can calculate how much of the compound we have by the strength of the m/e signal.

I think I did! LOL
But I tell ya, I'm glad. I woulda had to help take care of him and deal with the jedis alone this evening if they'd done the extractions...I'm glad they didn't.
Got too much to do yet!
