Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's about time for my appointment for my fingernails. I got all the stuff loaded in the truck so I won't chance messing up the nails after they're done. I'll be coming back here for a couple of hours after the nail appointment to let 'em get good and dry before I drive to Dallas.

But, golly, I am really close to leaving for wedding-moot!

The board is set, the pieces are moving. We come to it at last, the great battle of our time...

maybe that's not the best quote for this one...

I don't have any tunes available here.

And Belly Up to the Bar is repeating over and over and over.

*sigh*

Good morning all...

Getting down to the last minute here... Rose is working a half-day today, going to pick her up at noon and take her to her hairdresser. Then home to pack and get ready. Our plane leaves Austin tomorrow at 1:24 pm!

Steve is coming home early today too...he's got 3 wisdom teeth he's gonna have pulled!

God bless him, I hope he's ok while I'm gone...I got plenty of teabags to staunch the bleeding.

Ouch! Pain will probably be more of a problem than bleeding, I think.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled when I was still in high school... they came out cleanly with no breaking, and the nurse gave them to me wrapped up in a slightly bloody paper towel. I took them home, cleaned them off, and put them in a little plastic coin tube. I still have that somewhere!

Oh--ROFL! :)

Sounds like you're about to head out soon. If I don't talk to you before then, you and Rose have a great trip, Bear!

Mine were impacted...wrapped around my jawbone. I passed out in the dentists chair and woke up with O2 on me and the dentist saying "Are you ok??? Are you ok???"

I bled a lot, just stood over the sink with blood pouring out of my mouth. My boyfriend at the time made warm teabags and I put them in my mouth and it slowed and then stopped the bleeding all together.

So I'm ready! LOL I even put warm teabags on Matthew's gums after he lost a tooth naturally!

I just feel like, as a nurse, I gotta do SOMETHIN'!

I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed in a hurry by a navy doctor, and I was fully conscious during the whole procedure. I can still remember the SOUND of that tooth being cracked as he pulled it out, piece by piece.

I have no desire to repeat that experience anytime soon...though I assume the other three will have to come out eventually.
