Honey, I don't think Ruthy and I need power tools used to get our minds off things! No labotomies please!
Just sent you something but I guess you logged off. Have a good night!
hehehehe...I was talking to a friend of mine who had given me a sermon tape from his church which happened to include the praise and worship.
I casually asked if the praise and worship was always so subdued and he replied "subdued? What do you mean?"
I said, "well does anyone ever clap or cheer or whoop or dance or even yell Amen or Hallelujah?"
He answered "During praise and worship? Well, we might tap our fingers on the chair in front of us."
I laughed and I think I offended him. Seriously though, my church is LOUD! And bilingual at that!
Went to town today and stocked up on supplies... cheese and crackers and chips and dips and veggies and burger fixins and s'more fixins and soda and beer and Boonies.
All we needs now is some folks to help us dispose of it all!
"The only good snake is a dead snake."
I saw a baby snake in the road today :) It's a northern pine (fox) snake--they look like rattlers. He was so cute! :)
No power tools needed!
I'm really over it actually. It wasn't that serious to start with so I can't say I'm heartbroken. Disappointed, yes, but not heartbroken. And the friendship remained intact, so that's a wonderful thing.
Ya gotta remember, in my situation, I don't expect anyone to voluntarily get involved with my mess.
WoooEeee!! That's a fine ride!
I would be so much more settled in here if I had found a church like that here! Every time I go home I make it back to my church there! I miss it so much. :-( When you come visit - we are goin'! :-)
Ha! I do!!!
hehehe... back in college when I went to visit my Grandpa and was interning with his company for the summer... I took a visit out to (drumroll) North Phoenix Baptist. Now, I'm not a Baptist, but this was the place of which that legends were told...
Sunday services had to be broken into two parts, since the "auditorium" only had space for about 10,000.
Ho. Lee. Cow. That was one *big* church. It was worth the experience if only just the once. Wow. With a capital "ow".
I hear ya, chica! I need to feel the joy of the Lord during praise and worship or it just starts feeling like a funeral to me.
Now I'm not knockin the good, old-fashioned traditional solemn hymns, because I like them too. All I'm saying is that praise and worship should have some PRAISE and worship in it. A joyful noise kind of PRAISE!
That good, huh? Might have to check that out one day. :-)
Standin' here with my hand raised.
I've never been there (certainly heard of it, though) but I have been to North Pheonix Assembly of God with my folks, which only slightly smaller than that.
And the church I went to in Tucson while I was in college was huge as well - not sure how many thousands went there. They had a full orchestra for their Sunday morning services that I played in.
The bathroom's down the hall, first door on the right. ;~D
E-9 Thursday at 6:30. If I can wait this long...way this week is stackin' up already, I'll be there by Wednesday.
We *are* your mess. And we love bein' there. :-)
Perhaps you didn't understand what I meant by *power tools*... :-)
We gotcha covered. If we do our job properly, by the time you get back in town you won't even remember your own name. :-)
Noon works, long as 2J makes breakfast early enough.
