Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Wow...sounds like a pretty big deal! People coming from a long way off, then? And the local folks are sort of hosting it?

Heh...I have a little box like that...and I just chucked the disks that were in it. So...I guess I'm all set!
I'll have to stop by the place that had 'em for ten cents...

I am with you! Today is going to be slow! But, I made my appointment for my pedicure in an hour and a half so that will occupy me for a while this morning. I knew I'd want something to do today.
My stuff if packed. I was actually thinking of taking it to the truck already! I am chomping at the bit! :-)

Ain't you a sweetie! Seriesly tho, don't make a special trip.
It's kinda funny tho, I'm already plannin' what I need to do for next spring. You reckon somewhere back in a previous age some of my ancestors mated with a hobbit?
I gots REAL big feet ya know...

There ya go girl! Seemed like when I got this computer was about the time I finally decided I didn't need those disks anymore - and it was about the same time I was looking for something besides an envelope to keep all those seeds in. Worked perfect. I've been using that for about 3 or 4 years now. Just the ticket. Doesn't take up too much fridge space - and keeps my seeds together! :-)

I'm filing my toenails for you to paint. I've been pampering my feet for days and they look pretty good.
I usually can paint them myself, but they look like such a mess when I'm done. The combination of bending over (hard for me to do), trying to see with my reading glasses, and not having any finger dexterity makes for quite a mess usually!

It's sad... my feet look so much better in the winter when I olive oil them at night and don't stay barefoot all the time. But, oh well, I don't think Miss Hair is gonna care about stains and callouses on my tootsies! At least our toenails will be purdy and painted!
Don't forget to pack your polish!!!

BTW, we ain't fergot that you still need a picture of the Mrs. wearin' the earrings. The photographer lost her picture somehow. So we're trying to find someone else in the cast with a picture of her. If nothing else, the DVD of the performance is coming out in July. We'll get a screen cap, or heck, I'll send ya the whole DVD. You'd get a kick out of it.

I reckon the way we all hang out, probably some hobbit traits rub off on the dwarves, and vice versa...
I'm really looking forward to trying the square foot garden thing next year, I gotta tell ya! I still haven't checked out the book, but I should. For one thing, I COULD go ahead and buy a lot of my seeds!
