Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I believe the other one I read was Prince Caspian, but it's been so long I forget. Did that used to be the second one in the Collier-published Narnia series? The Collier series is the one I had.

You'd be nicer if you spent more time here, rather than there, like Corin does.
Since we're on religion, does anyone here listen to Andrew Peterson's music? He's my current favorite songwriter right now - not favorite singer, but his lyrics are amazing. His latest album has a song about the silence of God that makes me almost want to cry every time.

I think it's the Jehovah's Witnesses who are all about numbers.

"Heh, that's the way all our family home movies were... every so often they'd get pulled out and we'd have a great time looking at all those memories."
My parents want to transfer our old movies to DVD sometime--I guess it's possible to do that now. We had some other family home movies in that format, and also some cartoons we liked to watch--Bugs Bunny and Woody Woodpecker. As kids we thought it was hilarious to run the filmstrip backwards and watch the movie in reverse, and to make rabbit-ears in front of the projector :)

"Both counted among his better story collections... two of the keystone collections of his "Future History" stories."
Excellent! I'm really interested in his Future History, so I'm looking forward to getting into these.

What other collections are good?
