Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I don't envy you being without A/C in OK in the summertime!

I'm here at work and no one else is. In my department, I mean. I musta missed a memo...

Well, I knew a lot of people said they would be out. But I didn't think it was THIS many.

One phone call so far...from a guy with the wrong number.

Ah, but less poignant and much more scarey...you get to see ME face to face.

I'm thrilled!

My mother, on the other hand, is NOT thrilled. She warned me not to set my drink down ANYWHERE because one of you might slip me a mickey.

"Mom," says I, "Nobody is gonna put anything in my drink!"

"You don't know these people!! They might!", she replied.

Sigh...trying to explain that I've known most of you for two and half years is impossible...online friendships are still too unusual to her.

Anyways, you can see where I get my white-knuckleism.

My problem is that if the temperature goes much above 75, my mind goes buh-bye. I have a really hard time driving in a hot car. Why that should be, I dunno, but it really affects me. A lot!

Good morning g'nad! My a/c doesn't work in my truck either... I think it needs 'recharged' cuz it works, but no coldness comes with it. It hasn't been worth it to fix it, for the few days a year that we ~really~ need it.

11:30 a.m. EST is the start time for the service. Althought I heard this morning that they extended the viewing hours and that may push the schedule back.

Live shots of the rotunda show it to be empty though. No public going through any more.

My question, will this be another caisson processional or a relatively simple transfer to the cathedral?
