Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Look, someone showed up to argue that marriage is eeeevil and the woman benefits from divorce...

It was just a matter of time.

And...I want to respond that if you go into marriage planning what to do if "it doesn't work out", you're setting yourself up for failure...but I imagine I'd get slapped for that.

You're defending well over there. Arrogant little... grrr... if we'd remember what our grandmothers said about milk and cows the world might be an easier place.

Well, to be fair, I sometimes get REALLY ticked off at all the women out there who just give in to that culture. True, the really good guys don't fall for it...but...still ticks me off.

Gotta head out in a few minutes. Van-sama is getting summer sneakers put on. Uh...I'm a little late. ;-) But it hasn't been warm! And I've been broke.

Did I mention it's payday? Woo-hoo!

Maybe President Reagan just said, "you know Lord, I wish I could hear Ray Charles sign just one more time..."

(Charles had been suffering with cancer)

You know, just yesterday I heard another tribute song to Pres. Reagan... Ray Charles' rendition of "America the Beatiful" interspersed with some of Pres. Reagan's famous sound bites.

I just had a good little meeting with the boss (is that allowed?) about a new little project we will probably be getting... I'm going to be keeping my job when I move, and telecommuting. Sort of. Anyway I'm going to give them 10 to 15 hours a week on little projects like this.

It's a nice simple thing, the kind I have lots of experience with, and it'll be completely different from what I'm doing in school, so it's perfect. Also it's an extra couple hundred bucks a month.

Someone's looking out for me already. I really need to stop worrying about things. He's much better at worrying than I am.

Blessings of being a Calvinist... it's all predestined, and God's plan is better than mine anyway.

(just tweaking you there, Corin)
