Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm not even gone yet, I'm not going to start feeling sorry for myself until I'm actually lonely. But man, this is going to be hard.

and the male hairdressers were singing along with Frank Sinatra... that was a little strange.Ummm, I'm almost afraid to ask this, but was it the male hairdresser part, or the singing along with Sinatra part that was strange? 'Cause I've been known to sing along on occassion when listening to Frankie.

Not like them you don't. Or you wouldn't be gettin' married. Or you would, but in Massachusetts.

Oh, I complain about 'em all the time, cuz they deserve it. But I'll still miss them. The immediate family, at least, if I never see a grandparent again that'll be fine.
It's just going to be very very strange not having bothers around.

depends on whether you know Frank or Liza's part the best...Whew, that's a relief!
Course, Hair thinks them lyrics are corny. Well, maybe they are, just a little...
Life is dull
Its nothing but one big lull
Then presto you do a skull
And find that youre reeling
She sighs and youre feeling
Like a toy on a string
And your heart goes: ring-a-ding ding, ring-a-ding ding, ring-a-ding ding

What a gorgeous picture!!
Even better than the flying heron at Entmoot!
The omen means "Ruthy was right. There will be nice weather for the wedding. Listen to her. She knows all."

Actually... that voice doesn't do anything for me, either. Sounds kinda slimy, to me.

I like his voice. Not as much as a lot of other singers, admittedly, and he did a bit too much rhythmical improvisation, IMO. But I do like it.
No denying he sang a lot of schmaltzy stuff, though.
