Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

When the revolt finally happens it will come as a shock to them, as such things always do. Need somebody to watch your back? Just call.
I said watch... as in protect.... not scratch...
oh, okay, all right, but it takes more skill to watch and scratch at the same time. :-)

Well now that may be so...but you have to think: Ramius needs a good fight to keep himself in keen condition, otherwise he might lose that edge. Therefor, my money-grubbing, tie-dyed, patchouli-smelling, Clinton-loving neighbors are serving a certain purpose in keeping Ramius on his toes and honed to a keen edge. Oh my yes!!! Ramius does need to maintain that edge. He just wouldn't be the same without it. That's one of those lovely things about him. ;-)

Am I prodding at the sores too hard? ;-) It's an open sore, whether you prod at it or not. :-)
I would buy a large boat and get my 50-ton masters license and start up a passenger ferry across the water... except that the f$@#ing legislature that approved all of this crap of a new bridge also made it *illegal* to carry passengers across the sound for money. The "plan" can't stand any competition. But... it's all about improving traffic, right? bullshe it. There's a whole *bunch* of us over in "the forgotten part" of the county that are getting pretty darn tired of this crap. Maybe I should run for office. Wouldn't *that* be fun...

...are serving a certain purpose in keeping Ramius on his toes and honed to a keen edge. That's sorta' like saying that the British made the colonist's better shots by providing consistent targets.
Wait... now that I think about it... that's a better analogy than I thought... :-)

I could tell it was an open sore by your posts tonight and others previously about the bridge and it's toll. I don't really understand how all that is happening after the elections you've told me about. But, then, things similar to that have happened here too. It's what's wrong that we're trying to fix.
My thought on it is, that if you think you could make a difference in office, then you should run. You might get in office and not make a difference. And you might not get elected. But, you know if you don't make the effort you won't have the opportunity to make the difference in that particular way.
It isn't the only way to make a difference. But, if it is one that is right for you, then you have to seriously consider it.
You now have my 2 pennies.

Maybe I should run for office Good God man, get a grip! Take a drink and deep breath. Think of the endless meetings full of talkative leftists, opining deep into the night. Think of the bureaucracy. Think of the op-eds in the Trib. Take your hand slowly away from the filing fee...

Government-style leftists are a whole 'nother breed...they actually have some power in their little world.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
That's why Ramius needs power. He's the one with the firepower to back it up!
Oh, I forgot, you already had a police chief like that! :-)
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be making light of ya'lls problems.... maybe I'm just getting sleepy. Been a rough day.
