Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...yeah, herbs might freak 'em out!
I can get it here...it's a little pricey but no more so than good coffee beans. On the other hand, the big bag they had at the natural foods store would last a long time. And I imagine it wouldn't cost much more than the shipping all the way from TX.
I get paid on Thursday!

I wish the approaches to the narrows bridge didn't look so ripped up right now with freeway construction. It distracts from how pretty it can be.
Your first impression of Gig Harbor is unfortunately going to be ripped up freeway.

Currently 66 here and rising VERY fast. Supposed to stay in the high sixties all night, too...which is both good and bad.
I'm wondering if we should try to find somewhere OUTSIDE to play for music night. My house is gonna be awfully stuffy...I don't have A/C.

Just being *that* close to the Pacific is a thrill for me. I've never been so far from home in my life! :-)
And as far as ripped up freeway goes, I'm so used to seeing that here in Miami that I'll most likely filter it out of my vision anyway.

It's a couple hundred foot fall.... I'd recommend not going over at all, you aren't gonna survive the impact. ;~D I got over my fears of bridges years ago. But, because I used to be that way I can sympathize with 2J. I still have to be careful when I'm with Aunt Cheryl if I'm driving... she can't stand bridges so I need to really slow down for her so she'll feel safe.
After going through some serious medical things several years ago - 'bout 97 or 98 - she decided to get her motorcycle license. She went and took the course and Uncle Lynn bought her a little Hondamatic 400. Thing was she would never go anywhere that she had to ride across a bridge of any size. So, one day, she wanted me to go riding with her and I decided to ride out around Lake Whitney. Well, I forgot and headed across the dam. She was fairly new to riding so we were going slow and safe anyway but I didn't think about it till we were already *on* the dam. LOL
She was actually happy though and thanked me. Said she needed to do that. And a couple of months after that we all took a road trip on the bikes camping for a long weekend. She had to go over several long, high bridges for that. Myranda was riding with Aunt Cheryl. She didn't know I'd already taken Cheryl across the dam and when Myranda saw a long high old iron bridge coming up she said she braced herself cause she just knew they were fixing to come to a skidding stop! LOL

You could play on a street corner, and maybe people would give you money.

Maybe.
Or they might just call the cops on us. ;-)
I'm wondering if the drummer is gonna bring his son again. Last week I was getting a vague impression that he was trying to hook us up.

Being able to get out of the car ain't a problem, is all I'm sayin'... Don't reckon you'd feel the shark bites either.

Hmmmm.... this stuff I get here from the Mexican store is really cheap. In a big ol' bag. I think it's like 5 pounds. It's just that I think it would look a little funny to put a baggie of that in the mail. LOL

The sound doesn't act the same as the ocean does, though, and it'd be neat if we end up with a day to spend sometime I'd take you there! What you can't see in this pic is that the surf actually starts breaking ~way-the-heck~ out there. Rows and rows of them.

That IS a lot! The ones here were maybe a pound...and cost six or seven dollars for that.
Think drug dogs like maté? ;-)

72 sounds nice! It'll warm up, I'm sure :-) I know. LOL.... It's just that for the last several days I've been out playin' in the afternoons at 90 to 95 degrees. Heat index was 107 yesterday and I was out in it from about 11:30 to 4. It's just a big change! Supposed to be back up to 90 shortly. I'll be back in it when I decide to get dressed. LOL

I'm thinking my next house needs a wraparound porch.
I have NOWHERE to play outside...if we DID do it, we'd have to go to a park or something.

OMG!!! I really do need to mail you some!!! I'm thinkin' I paid 2 bucks for a big bag! I really don't know how many pounds, maybe not as many as I'm thinkin' but it's the same *size* as a 5 pound bag of flour.
