Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's frightening that you found that so fast.

One of these things... is not like the others.

Don't ask me to explain it...

Austin has a minor league team that is quite popular, the Ice Bats.

I'm kinda hoping my cilantro will reseed. But I didn't know until it was too late (and too tall) that it has such a short window of usefulness as cilantro. Guess I'm growing coriander now...

They'd get through the title, maybe :)

I've got some nice flat-leaf parsley growing.

Dunno if I'll get much in the way of 'maters and peppers, but at least the patio landscape is intriguing the cat.

Just heard a neat Reagan anecdote on local TV. There was a family in the area that named their now-16-year-old child after Reagan. Around 1998 the family wrote a letter to Reagan and to their surprise got invited by the Reagan family to visit the President. President Reagan was ailing and had trouble interacting with the adults, but around the children he seemed to become very relaxed and more himself. I thought that was kinda cool.

You can always find some from a seed catalogue!

I think I can find some at Home Depot or Lowes. Target still has their seed stuff out too.
