Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

*cracking up*
Come to think of it, the frogs that chirp at night down here sound like they're saying "chirac, chirac".

hehehe... well, there's lotsa "dead" commies now, thanks to the death of communism. Thanks Ronnie... :-)
President Reagan was my CINC, I'm proud to say.
It occurs to me that the one statement that puts it all in focus is this: Mikhail Gorbachev is going to come to Ronald Reagan's funeral to pay his respects, and he doesn't have to. He wants to. That sorta 'splains it all to me.

Frogs are kinda ok. Snakes aren't. Snakes give me creeps from behind glass. If there's a snake in the road, I'll try not to hit it with my car, because it could bounce up onto my windshield and then I'd crash.
I wouldn't touch a frog, but they're not evil, except the surrender-monkey variety.

I don't mind the deer. But if anyone wants to hunt turkeys here, you have my blessing :) The turkeys are way too overpopulated. Got a family of geese with new babies that just showed up over the past few days, too--hope they migrate and don't stay long, or that's going to be a pain.
