Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm going to bed too. I may read for a bit. When I went home I found and kept all these old books my Dad had. I am reading through them now. See you all tomorrow maybe.

I'm contemplating going to DC. If it should happen to be next Saturday... I'm contemplating, too. I can't, sadly, take extra time off work this month, but I could drive down Saturday, it's only a five-hour drive.

Can I sue JK Rowling? None of the spells in her books work, I know, I tried "scourgify" on my pots, and the Imperius Curse on my brothers. And no matter how I swish and flick, I can't levitate anything.

You've got a reply. I'm going to bed. Hope it makes sense, I had a little wine this evening and we, um, sang along with "Veggie Tales Rock" - remixed VeggieTale silly songs as done by popular Christian artists. V. fun, a little bit... hallucinogenic.

This just in... a
Bravo press release regarding their Fall 2004 schedule indicates that they will be broadcasting the LOTR Symphony. It's from a Canadian site, but it may very well be broadcast here in the US as well. No word on exactly when, but I'll be sure to let y'all know if I hear any more about it.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS SYMPHONY
Canadian Television Premiere
Whether in its six-volume form or its extraordinary transposition to the screen by Peter Jackson, The Lord of the Rings is a story that has delighted people of all ages for more than 50 years. And now the magic of the tale has been adapted for the stage in musical form by Canadian composer Howard Shore, who was awarded three Oscars for his work on the films. The Lord of the Rings Symphony, produced in association with Bravo!, is a six-movement orchestral piece with over 200 musicians and singers, accompanied by superb projections of set designers' illustrations created for the filming of the trilogy.
