Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

No such luck. I came home and checked the freezer and I'm glad I did...I now have a laundry basket full of very cold, but completely defrosted raw meat.
We gotta cook it now. The freezer is full of water (condensation maybe?) and one of the packages of meat leaked. So I cleaned it and have it open and airing.
Sigh...
I don't know what we'll do once we cook it...buy another cooler and some more ice, I guess.
Two things on my wish list...
1. A generator
2. A safe room.

Figures! But good!
Good to have two versions, since the chances of everything working right for everyone doubles that way.

Keep me posted on this sis.
My friend Maj Wes lost 4 men last week in Afghanistan...I just feel terrible about it and I'm trying to get a package out to him...but this power outage has really disrupted things...

Have a big dinner party maybe! Though everyone in town likely has the same problem!

LOL That's right! I thought about giving some of the food to my neighbors, but they are dealing with the same issue!
I'm on the laptop via battery so I better get off to conserve the battery...I'll see you later!
Got a whole lotta cookin' going on!

Horse baths = scary thought. I suppose it's more like washing a car than washing a person? You haven't got a giant tub full of suds, have you?

Heh...time to dig out the road grill?
I'd be happy to take some of that meat off your hands if I lived closer!

Good evening! I'm making an odd dinner...running low on ingredients and I still have a week until payday. Tonight it's a sort of stew with garbanzo beans, pork, diced tomatoes, ginger, garlic, mint and spinach. It actually seems to be better than that combo sounds, though. Very tasty, actually.
But I still can't wait for payday...

We're having meatloaf. I hate meatloaf. And my mom's in a bad mood and I don't know why.
Other than that, it's a good evening! Tomorrow's an easy work day, and then we're going to the movies.

We had wings on road grill last weekend.

I like meatloaf! If I make it, anyway. I'm picky about ingredients. And I didn't really like it when Mom daubed ketchup all over the top before baking it.
I need to get the next few Harry Potter books so I can read up before watching the movies! I haven't seen the second yet. Might as well...but I kinda wanna read the book first.

Mmmmm...wings.
I've been craving spicy stuff. Luckily I have chili thawing...can have that for lunch tomorrow. And the...stuff...I'm having tonight is fairly spicy, though in a different way. Not hot, but well seasoned.

I've got cow for tonight. Think I'll sautee some peppers and onions to go with it.
To: Overtaxed
Sounds good to me! I'm all out of peppers, durn it. I bet some red bell pepper would be good in my stuff.
Having a bowl now and it's actually really good! Interesting mix of flavors. Now if I can only remember how I made it...
