You know...I hadn't even considered that many of these are perennials. I hoped the mint would come back, but that's all. I was shocked when I discovered how many came back in the garden I considered a failure last year. I don't remember even SEEING oregano last year, for example. I certainly never had enough of a plant to use. But this weekend I found a big patch of it when I was starting to turn all that dirt over to try again! And parsley, too.

I thought I was going to have to start over. Bonus!

Parsley is great IMO because it is a biennial but will re-seed itself. One you have it going if you let it go to seed you won't have to be concerned about having it perpetually. At least in my experience.

Dill used to work that way for me at the old place too.... till Myranda's dad started mowing it down before it went to seed. *sigh*

And until this year I always had basil that did that too. I finally found about 3 little basil plants coming up this weekend but not near like I've had in all other years.
