I am now in a worse tax bracket cause I no longer have Myranda as a deduction! I guess another job would make that even worse. Hadn't thought of that! Good reason just to stick with this the way things are now until I know which way it's gonna go.
I'm not concerned about being able to find another job. I can always find a regular drafting job. It's that I don't want to have to do it in this place in which I don't like to live anyway. I like my job. But, if I can't have this job in this town there is NO WAY I want to stay here. Makes things a bit more complicated.
I still have one other option, I THINK...dunno enough to be sure. One of the guys I work with - the senior technician (I'm the assistant) may be leaving to go to grad school. If he does, I might be able to apply for his job and move up one slot. Wouldn't be automatic, I don't think...and I don't know if I'd be accepted. But it's one possibility.
I seriesly love my home here, and the more I think about leaving, the more I realize that. But I have to be able to make a living, or it doesn't matter HOW much I like it...it still won't work.
You need to set yourself up as a CAD service bureau for custom chopper makers. Get all the model data from the engine, wheel, and frame makers, then design the custom brackets, etc. that the builders needs. Pretty soon, you'll have your own series, "American Chopperette".
