There were a few in Rhode Island...but here we have apples and cherries, but not too many other fruit trees. I can remember being amazed when we visited my grandmother in Indiana because the next door neighbors had a big plum tree.
I could deal with that. Still want my four seasons, though...but I'm thinking a bit about the midwest these days...maybe even southern midwest.
They have these things in the stores that LOOK like fresh peaches; they even say "Farm Fresh", but they taste very mealy. Ack spit!
I DO miss good southern peaches!! When we go to Perdido Key in August, we'll have to hit some of the roadside farmstands. We always find yummy tomatoes, peaches and Silver Queen corn while we're there!
