What do you mean by "long day's drive"? 8 hours, or 18?

Driving might be an option... my car gets good mileage, and if it wasn't too far, I might try that.

I just looked and Greyhound says 16 hours, which is including 1 transfer, so in a car it'd probably be several hours less than that.

well, that depends on your average speed. It's a days drive from KC to Denver or the Springs. Tack on a couple hours on your end and several on G'nads end and you have a right good long day. The cruising speed across KS is generally 80 or so I have been told. You got the Mo hill country roads at the end of the day and that's not the best actually. However, it might make for an adventure for hobbit lass.
