Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Thanks for the review, Jen. I think I'll wait a bit before going to see it. :-)

Sticklebats!

Corin can't find his EE Fellowship. I've got the theatrical and I know I loaned TTT to a co-worker. Wonder what I did with the Fellowship?

Garden question fer the ladies. Now that they've bloomed and I've dead-headed all the daffodils, do I cut back the foliage? Or do I let it die? I fergit.

I got lots o' weedin' to do. I'm gonna need some kneepads fer all the work in the dirt.

Reckon I'll need tuh go shoppin' in Rivendell agin...

Holy cow, text-based. That would be kinda like D&D, except for the dice.

I haven't seen League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so I'm kind of still in the dark there. I'm curious how they made Dracula into a mad scientist. Any new methods of slaying vampires?

Simon could get tough after a few turns! I remember even in middle school I found it challenging.

A parakeet bit my sister once. . . :)

Was it after the cheese? Wait, that was the moose, nevermind.

It's a long and very sad story. How far back should I go? :-)

It sounds like it was an interesting game! BTW I found some of my old D&D BASIC programs after that thread on BASIC. I have one for generating NPCs and one for calculating combat. Used to have some actual games somewhere, too--will have to dig more.

Yes, it was a giant parakeet after the cheese the moose had eaten--kind of like in that nursery rhyme where "she swallowed the bird to catch the fly. . ."

We will be looking for it. I am REALLY hoping to have the baby be Mother's Day. Am truly afraid this baby will be bigger than elf-boy was.
