Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yep! When I get some free cash I am coming to see your new house! It would be nice if I could make it for inauguration... but it may not be by then. Still, I will see it one of these days! :-)

Besides, I gotta see this dough-boy freak. :-)

That and we gotta get down to the logic-free zone and see all the monuments. Might even be able to meet up with the dwarf.

Well, the police are at my neighbor's across the street yet again. I can't figure out what goes on over there... but they are there every month or so. No one ever seems to ride off in the police car though.

Domestic? Prolly.

The logic free zone would be cool!!! The monuments. Not the rats. I wanna see my neighbor's uptown house too. :-)

We could get the dwarf to do elvish things with us! hehehe... but you know he'd like it! :-)

And if I came all that way I would even *expect* the dwarf to bring the Mrs. out of hiding to meet me! :-)

Morning!

It being June, I'm wearing my new shorts and sandals to work. I can't wear shorts to the client site, it's too cold out there, but today I can be casual.

Heh, at least it's Tuesday and not Monday.

I'm off to go shopping.

I avoided the weekend crowds- no need to get stressed from shopping when all I have to do are mundane errands- and now I want to avoid the soccer moms by going out early.

((Hugs))

GMTA. I was thinkin' that as soon as I finish my tea I'm gonna run to WalMart. I'm out of tortillas and chips. Can't eat.

Love ya! Have fun doing mundane errands! :-)

*sigh*

It's cold here again. Raining again. Supposed to rain all week.

Then again...maybe the few plants I got around to planting this weekend (seeds, that is...) could use the rain?

Wasn't it you that likes maté? I was at the natural foods place this weekend and they had lemon ginger maté way on sale, so I got some. I think that's better for waking up than coffee is! I'll have to get some of the plain stuff, so I can add my own flavoring. Bet it'd be good with fresh mint.

Speaking of which, my mint is growing insanely. I used a bunch yesterday in tea and for tabouli salad, but I should probably pick a bunch more and dry it so the plants don't completely take over that area!

See, I told ya not to worry! I love it! My favorite mint is in Vermont! :-)

Yes, I love mate. I am drinking some now. :-)

When I get it plain, I get mine from a Mexican store here in a 2 pound bag. Mostly I get the Celestial Seasonings flavors though. I like their Morning Thunder but today I'm having Verde Mist. The stuff *really* does wake you up! 8-)

We had rain last week. Guess it's your turn now?

Gah, first thing that greets me this morning is physics equations... at least I don't have to solve them. Just put them into the software and make it work.

The store had both tea bags and big bags of loose maté...or powder, maybe? It was a heavy bag, in any case. I figured I'd better try some before buying that much, though!

So far this year, what few herbs I do have are doing pretty well. I have parsley, sage, oregano and the mint. Still trying to get chives, dill and basil to grow, though. Starting with seeds is discouraging when you're as impatient as I am!

Speaking of which, I'm clearing a slightly larger area than last year, and half thinking of a few easy to grow, prolific in small areas kinda vegetables. I'm wondering how much space two or three zucchini plants would need, for example. Those are easy to grow, right?

We had rain all last week, too! And cold! Even had frost in some places late last week. I guess I should be grateful that it was SORT of warm Sunday and Monday, but...I am SO ready for summer. I'm not a big fan of major heat, but seventies would be GREAT.

It was kind of hot here last week. This week might be cooler. Seventies. But I will be glad if we don't get so many thunderstorms.

Oof, I did too much weight lifting yesterday. My legs are so sore. And I have a blister on my foot from walking, last week. I want to walk tonight but I might not be able to. Oh well. It's a sunny day here, and I had just a great weekend, and Friday I get to do something fun with the whole family.
