Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I did my weigh-in this morning. I'm almost back to my lowest number! Another week, or two tops, and I'll be there. Then I can concentrate on getting rid of the last XX pounds... or more likely, two inches here, three inches there, since I'll be working out at the same time and will probably have muscle weight...

You can wear whatever you like!
I would love to see you in that dress! (but I still might throw you in the drink) or the one you posted yesterday that was made from the draperies! I never knew you are so formal.... you seem like a casual gal!
Whether you wear something casual or wear something dressy and change later is really up to what you want to do. I just wanted everyone to know that they don't have to dress up, and don't want ya'll to be mad at me because you dressed up and got sand in your panty hose!

Congratulations! :) I missed my workout last night, but I will be able to make it up today, as I have to do some heavy yardwork this afternoon--filling in a pothole trench that the heavy rain washed in the gravel road, which requires me to move a bunch of silt from the pond up the hill about a hundred yards. BTW I came up with the coolest SF story idea yesterday--will tell you later after I develop it a bit.

Ain't even bringing panty hose but you gotta wear something special for special occasions!
I kinda like the celery-ish one I posted.

Sounds like fun. Not.
I'm starting a lifting routine next week. I'd like to do a short walk tonight, then start the weights tomorrow.
My story's coming along fairly well. I think I'm over the hump and will be able to write quite a bit this weekend.

OK, so I think we've settled the clothes issue! I do hope it is sunny and 70 that day, my only further instruction is that we may not know exactly what weather to expect. Our weather is not Phoenix, or Texas... and at this point, anything can happen... we are hoping for sunny and 70. Lets all hope we get that!
On the trip, you may need pants, shorts, tank tops and sweatshirts. We here in the northwest always have to decide what to wear no more than two hours ahead of time, based on the conditions given us!

Nobody outside of Texas has ever heard of a groom's cake. Not true. My b-i-l had a grooms's cake with the University of Richmond logo on it.

Can Ruthy and I pray for sunny and 80?
I promise, we will be downright cold at 70 after a month of 90 degree temps!

If you pray for 80, I hope you don't get it! - I'd be miserable in the sun at 80 degrees!
