Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

The best biscuits I've ever made called for lard! They came out flaky and tasted just wonderful.
But I have a good recipe for buttermilk biscuits, too. Gonna be awhile before I make 'em again...but they are VERY good. My brothers love creamed chipped beef over biscuits. I make it once in awhile as a special treat.

OKAY - I have decided on a rule though.... anyone dressed up too much gets thrown in the drink.
AND (making the rules up as she goes along) any parent who dresses their kid up in clothes they can't play in because they'll get dirty - the kid and the parent gets thrown in the drink!.... or the kid plays anyway and the precious new shoes or whatever get thrown in the drink.

I gots sundresses you can wear if you like. If you really wanna wear a dress. If you like that better than shorts.
Or you can wear my dress that matches Hair's colors if you like.
Or are you just *wanting* to buy a new outfit? Looking at this as an opportunity?

Me too. I am hungry when I hit snooze. That is usually why I get up :-)Yep! On the weekends, I have breakfast before bothering to get dressed, since I don't have to worry about rushing.

And a hat! I mean, this is a BEACH WEDDING! I wanna wear a flowery sundress with bright flipflops and a straw hat! I want my nails painted and even my toenails!
I can change later. I want to dress up a bit for the wedding. Not too much, but a bit! I so rarely have a reason!

OKAY - I have decided on a rule though.... anyone dressed up too much gets thrown in the drink. That rule is fine with me - UNLESS YOU FORGET THAT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO TOLD ME MY DRESS WAS GOOD!

Well, I am kinda looking for an opportunity.
But what about a nice flowery short set instead?? I'm not married to the dress idea...just something nice. And there are nice shorts sets!
All I have now is blue jean shorts, which I'm sure would "do" but I don't wanna wear 'em! LOL

I like those rules...want pictures!LOL... I am thinking that I should forget the dress and just revert to my normal summer attire. I'm just afraid it will be chilly there and I would be cold!
