Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good morning!

I'm leaving here at noon...gonna go pick up my littlest sister, who's home alone since the others are visiting friends until Saturday, and hopefully we'll get some outdoor work done. It's wet right now, but supposed to clear up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I don't know exactly what they were talking about, Hair, but it seems I might not have any trouble hearing the music at WeddingMoot!

She's doing good...I kept a close eye on her yesterday.

My only concern is the cut on her toe...it's grungy from scratching in the dirt and I don't want her getting an infection. I'll just have to watch it.

I suppose Johnson & Johnson don't make chicken band-aids, no? ;-)

LoL!! Nope...If I had to, I could restrain her, wash it up good and keep her enclosed so that I could keep her area really clean. But I don't want to do that unless I have to...chickens are very social and she's never been away from Roy for very long...

I just did a search for "chicken band-aid." I think it's a children's book.

The whole point of the exercise, of course, is to ensure that the bride is appropriately worried.

It appears we have succeeded already!

Good morning! Are we gonna have a big breakfast or anything at your house? I love to cook breakfast...great big ones, so I'd be happy to help with it!

Breakfast is a big deal around my house on the weekend...lasts all morning, and we usually skip lunch. I can make regular carb, low carb...strawberries with fresh whipped cream.

OT will be able to tell you about it when she gets back from her visit here this weekend...we're planning The Works for her.
