Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

LOL!!! They don't have the same "connotation" where I'm from. Like I say...everyone wore them...my folks even bought them for us. I mean, we wore 'em to high school!

I still wish I could get another pair of Clarke Springers. But they aren't cheap. But GOSH I love 'em! I swear...they gotta be elf made. They're so light and comfortable, and wearing them is almost just like going barefoot without having to worry about getting hurt on rocks and such.

You're not the only one who's stir-crazy. I love to get in my car and drive somewhere nice. Another thing about when you come visit me in CO... if the weather's good, we can drive up into the mountains!

It's a tightly-knit mesh "fabric"- usually vinyl or something similar. It allows water to pass through to the soil, but not sunlight. This blocks weeds.
So you prepare your soil and lay down the fabric. There are special staples that push into the ground to hold it in place. Then you cut Xs in the fabric and plant your plants in the soil underneath. You top it with mulch, gravel, or whatever.
It's not too expensive, comes in big rolls. I get mine at Walmart. Price is based on how many years it will last. Super good investment.

These sandals are made out of this ultra soft foam rubber and surgical tubing.
You don't break 'em in. They break you in. You're feet just get used to them. So they are a bit hard to get used to. But after you do, they are very comfy.

Better watch out who you invite...
Sigh... I hate to say that I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't make the wedding, but at least we can have a chat/view of it.

I can't wear something like this?I don't think that qualifies as beach attire, even in the South.
