Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You know, what somebody needs now is a webcam on the flight with Ruthy, 2J and I from Dallas!!! I got it settled with 2J and Ruthy seated next to one another and I'm in the row directly in front of them. We're hopin' 2J gets her box fan on the plane to run the guy out in the seat next to her so I can have it. :-)

. I wield a mean box fan. I'm trying to visualize a shieldmaid of Rohan wielding a boxfan on horseback.

I just emailed what I copied back to you...see what you think.
Do I need to do anything? Do I need to print this up and take it with me?

True...but between freepin' I'm working on my office budget for the next two years. Not pretty. Especially at this time of night.

So, what style of clothing would be approriate for the wedding?
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Budgeting hint: If you want a new city owned car, or a new hosted web service application... or whatever... ask for a submarine, for environmental (of course) research purposes.
The submarine needs to cost at least 15-50M for purchase and about 3-5M/yr for maintenance.
Once they find out that you can "get by" with merely a new car for your group or a cool web application that "only" costs about 500K to kick off... you're in like flint.
Trust me on this... :-)

I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that "beach casual" attire is appropriate. Nylons and dressy shoes are right out.
Anything that allows you to run and jump and play knee-deep in water, walk on beaches, and/or otherwise make a fool of onesself... that's the ticket.
Think in terms of shorts, and/or skirts no longer than knee-length, then flip-flops and/or sandals. That'll do. :-)

Looks like I'm flying out on Thursday, coming back on Monday...
I got the boys "Terminator 1 and 2" to watch while they're camping. It's been sent (from Walmart DVD club) so I hope it gets here in time.
