Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Listen guys. No need to worry about sleeping. I can sleep on floors and think I'm blessed! They are much better then cold mud or asphalt. And I will be sleepin' on asphalt this weekend.

This works. The Hobbit Hole is like a Big Mac. It is always the same, no matter where you are.

Wife just tested it...if under 5'5" can fit -- we may not have enough bedding (sheets and such). So if you're short enough and can put up with sharing a half-bath downstairs...there it is.
To: Corin Stormhands
Sorry Corin! I wish you could come too! and everyone!
Lets hope we get this webcam software working and can get a camera with decent detail for y'all to watch!
Still watching? Did ~anyone see me feed the horses an apple? (they went back out to pasture now) - did you see me hold up the cat?

That might not be a bad idea!

Oh, like I'd get in an
elf closet...thanks, but...
Seriesly, I'd spring for the hotel, but I just can't figger out the scheduling. Wife is heading to Slovakia on a missions trip. Older son is heading to New York on Choir tour. Younger son will be with wife's sister in North Carolina. I'm just not comfortable with being that far away from the boys when the wife is out of the country. If I was going anywhere, I'm supposed to be at my college in Kentucky for reunion weekend (I'm on the alumni board)

This hard light is hard to get an exposure for.... getting it to pick up both the shadow and sun spots.
Can you see Gidget laying out there in the shadow or is it too dark?
