Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good letter.
I like that Lacey City Councilman in the story I posted about renaming her the USS Lacey.
I am embarrassed, and I might write or do something tomorrow about that.
We drove down today and saw the big ship that is loading military equipment from Fort Lewis bound for Iraq... no unusual activity spotted reacting to that.

Yah... that's a nice touch by the Lacey councilman. Though... sailors being the superstitious lot that they are... you can't rename a ship of the line. It's woeful bad luck.

Olympia is just becoming an open sore on an otherwise fine state. The cancer of Evergreen is spreading. Soon it will join with the forces of mord-- uh, I mean Seattle, and then all will be lost.
Then I think it will be time for us out on the peninsula to secede and form a new state.

I am sorry I brought it up, really. My intent was not to get anyone to feel like they have to throw feel-goods at me. I know I have the body I have earned.
But I do object to thin people throwing the word pudgy around when in the presence of actual pudgy people. And that is not meant only for 2J.... Sonya is also talking about how "fat" she is getting at 9 weeks of pregnancy that is not even showing. How can she say that to ~me~? I am always sensitive about that stuff but I am moreso now because my wedding dress is gonna be tight. And it isn't a 6, it isn't an 8, and it isn't a 14.
I'm not being hard on myself, I am being real. And if I was a better person I would do something about it and stop sniping at you guys about it. I'll at least stop sniping at you guys.... OK? - Sorry :~D
