Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've already seen at least two scenes that I know weren't in the theatrical...Merry pledging to Theoden, and a piece of Pelennor.

Mind-numbingly stupid women. From the very beginning. By the end, I cheered when they went off the cliff.

And we can "Thelma and Louise" with his car?I don't want to be either of those dodo brains! I prefer to get even without having to crash a great car into a canyon! Believe me, it can be done.
I'm all for blowing up a truck with a smart aleck redneck though! :-)

By the way, my laptop has a dvd player. So we could always watch RotK... or anime, though my selections are a little low right now. I do have all of "Lost Universe" and the first disk of "Fruits Basket", though.
Unless you happen to have loads of camping gear in which case we could rough it instead.

When I get to the movie, I'll be looking for three things.
(1) When they released FotR to DVD, they fixed the car in one of the early scenes. In RotK, Aragorn'n'Arwens son has a little hitch in his get-along as he transitions from the forest to the envisioned palace...the CGI timing was a hair off.
(2) Another fix: the reversed playback of the Edoras aerial shot. They have smoke tools in all that computer stuff, and they can fix it so it comes out of the chimneys.
(3) I still think it was Andy Serkis carrying a giant punkin into the Green Dragon at the end...y'all think (or thought?) it was the Deagol actor. We shall see :)

We shall see! - I never noticed the hitch or the bit with the smoke.... We've already missed those shots on this view.... you'll have to tell us!
