Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh. That would be why my sister said there were a lot of babies hanging around at the end.

Lemme know about "Van Helsing."
Jr. wants to see it. I've not decided if I want to.

It was a college thing for me. It was a Thursday ritual to pile into the basement TV room, do laundry and homework, gab, and watch Friends and ER. Those were fun times. I honestly haven't watched it much beyond that. The ending kinda underscores the fact that it's time to grow up and move on.

And then Kenshin was elected mayor seven times in a row, that he was--oops, wrong story :)
Wow, that is a lot of episodes per season! I guess I've still got a lot of Season 1 left then--cool! :) Can't wait to get to the part with four straight hours of battle--those are the best parts IMO.
I was planning to see Van Helsing possibly this weekend, but I didn't know Hugh Jackman was in it; I guess that explains why I've seen him on so many talk shows lately, though. Let me know how the movie is, but don't tell me any spoilers! :)

See, I'm at a loss with this comic book stuff. I gave 'em up after I got tired of "Richie Rich" and "Little Dot."
2nd grade maybe?

So no one told you life was going to be this way: your job is a joke. You're broke, and your love life is D.O.A. It's funny how you are always stuck in second gear. It has not been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.
But I'll be there for you.
For ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
On every channel.
Until you die.

It's interesting - my sister and I have both been watching "Ranma" while waiting for the rest of RK. Ranma has very simple art, almost just line-drawings, I don't know the right terms.
Well, Kenshin artwork is so lavish we were debating this morning whether the art style had changed! It hasn't, it's just our eyes had forgotten how beautiful it was.
All of Season Two is one long story-arc. So there are a number of "buildup" episodes, and a number of episodes that don't have much physical action but are really important, and then there's an enormous payoff. Figure 32 episodes, at 20+ minutes of story each... that's like as long as the LotR trilogy!
Got to go now. See you all tonight!

Richie Rich--LOL! I barely ever read that one, but when you mention it, it reminds me of Little Lulu, LOL!

But, afore I go a bit of shameless self promotion.

The big "surprise" was that the birth mother of the baby Monica and Chandler were adopting had twins. Of course, Beck does have a point - didn't they do a sonogram?OK, I guess that tells how little I know about the show...I have no idea what the heck that's all about.
But like I said, I really didn't watch it. Used to watch Seinfeld and I DID like that. Frasier too, once in awhile. But even those I've not seen for years...don't pick anything up here and don't have cable.

I haven't watched
Ranma yet, but the cover pic looks more like "standard" anime than
Kenshin to my eye.
Kenshin gets quite detailed with the action shots--for instance that opening sequence with Kenshin fending off the group of Ninjas looks like it may have been shot live before being cartooned (which is an old Disney technique--and also what Bakshi did in LotR, BTW, LOL!)
Glad to hear the storyline is so long! I was starting to wonder that in Season 1 because this Ninja storyline seems like it's going longer than I expected.
Have a good day!--talk to you when you get back!

I can't decide yet if I'll buy my own black balloons and cake and throw a big party here at work or just ignore it.
