Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I was about a mile and a half away from one once, though. But it was in the Land of the Long Leaf Pine and I didn't see the funnel. I just said..."gee...the clouds are rotating...and there's white noise. Guess I'd better get the pork shoulder off the grill."

Yeah...my family laughed at me. But they sure enjoyed dinner.

Looks like they're landing north of me.
To: Overtaxed
I'd do the same, food comes first.
North of your area?
North of me here in NY got snow/sleat/hail/rain mix.
And lightning.

Had a good dinner...I made a sort of lasagna using thin slices of eggplant instead of noodles. Probably a lot lower calorie-wise, too, in spite of all the cheese. It of course wasn't the same as normal lasagna, but very good in its own right.
And I don't even like eggplant, as a general rule! But I liked this. A lot.

LOL! I've always loved bright colors, and never was held too much to what the 'in' colors were because I sewed for myself, as long as I could find fabric that I liked. Purple and green was a combo I always liked I like purple and green together too! Very nice. And I'm like you, I find that the best part about sewing is getting the stuff I like in the colors and prints that I like.

Just wish I didn't end up with at least two meals worth o' leftovers. I mean...leftovers are handy, but I LIKE to cook! And now I have no excuse to cook for a coupla days, what with that and leftover chili.
I gotta convince a brother to move in, I guess. I'm still working on that.
