Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think it starts at 6 my time. No problem with the simulcast, though--I've seen it so many times I can keep up even without the film :) (How's that for scary? :)

Miss Cuteness puppy....Cuteness is right!! I love the way her ears stand up, but fold over right at the top.
Freckles ain't too shabby himself! I've never seen a collie with those markings. They're like dalmation spots!

Freckles is a male... (though collies are like elves, they all look like girls ;~D).
His coat coloring is called blue merle. Show people like it because it's 'different'. I like the classic lassie sable color like the new pup best, call me a traditionalist.. Lisa's other male is a mahonany-sable, and he's gorgeous too I think.
This is him.

Hello! Once again I've missed so many posts that I don't think I'll even TRY to catch up. Anything super important?
Pretty dogs! We had a collie for most of the afternoon at Friday...there's an elderly male that lives just down the road, and every so often he gets lonely and wanders up to the campus. I have a feeling he doesn't have the greatest home, just judging from the condition of his coat at times and the fact that he's loose. Granted, collie coats take a LOT of work, but...still. He found us since we were one of the few places that had the door open and people hanging around, and came in and laid down...stayed most of the afternoon being coddled and petted and then left a little before we did. The guys said sometimes when he does that they call the owner and they eventually come get him...but he wasn't doing any harm and the owners know where he goes, so we just enjoyed his company. ;-)
*sigh* Almost Monday. But I'll enjoy the evening as much as I can considering I gots ta do laundry! I have a big pot o' chili simmering on the stove and a coupla books to read while I'm waiting for it to finish and the laundry to dry, so life is pretty good.

Sigh...we got the time wrong fer Jr's meeting on the Brazil trip. We thought the time was 5:00 p.m. Well, it was, fer the endin' time. Now I gotta just turn around and take him back fer another youth group thing at 7:00.
Almost makes me look forward to the day he can drive himself.
Almost.

Hello Hobbit Hole!
I'm watching Bakshi..thought I know not why!
Gandalf has just arrived at "Arrowman's" and they're both milking invisible cows.

Hi, Ruthy! Arrowman--LOL! Now the Black Riders are showing up--this is one of the scenes Bakshi did well IMO.

At Entmoot we were all laughing at the way the Ringwraiths limped around. How on earth would they possible catch anyone on foot? No wonder they needed horses and Fell Beasts!

I've got the Bakshi on in the background. Thankfully, I have to leave in about 10 minutes to go back and get Jr.
Had a thought that Rosie and Ruthy prolly wouldn't do too much fighting over the Bakshi version of Sam.
