Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yawn... oh, good grief, why are you up so early?

My sister has to help in Sunday School, so we have to leave by 8:45. That only gives me another twenty minutes... and I get to sit through really boring Sunday School lectures. Ugh. I'm so tired... I went to bed at midnight but couldn't sleep.

Oh - and we are getting married on June 19th! :~D

Yesterday we had the cemetery cleanup day. Spent time weed-wacking and raking, and then had a little lunch. Got to see some of the last people alive who remember my grandparents.

Then we practiced the timing of walking down from the house to the dock to the music. Our wedding march music will be "Concerning Hobbits" ;~D

Morning All - Got the tomatoes planted, the most sun is on the brick patio (go figure) so we're trying growing them in pots. Some Romas and Tomallito.

Got some new plants including monkshood (name of a Cadefal novel, I believe) aka Wolfbane.

Pretty quite in our 'shire', warm, breezy, hmm. Spring?

'Morning!

It's not as breezy as yesterday....maybe I'll get to dust the plants today.

Miss Cat is shedding fur on my flylady-ed place this morning. *Sigh*

I'll have to bring the Phial of Galadriel for protection against the Ring while I'm there.

'Course I don't have a Phial of Galadriel so I'll have to use the Photon Light....the next best thing. :)

Very good.... during the ceremony if you begin to hear ominous music, or if I hold up the ring and say "‘But I do not choose now to do what I came to do. I will not do this deed. The Ring is mine!’ - You'll know what to do.

Hehehe...at the part where they ask if there's any reason why you shouldn't get married, I'll hold up my Photon Light.

Got to see some of the last people alive who remember my grandparents.

That is very special! I'm glad you still have those people around. :-)

I have been very fortunate in knowing grandparents. I actually had all 4 of my great-grandmothers and one of my great-grandfathers around long enough that I remember them. Being here in the home county I still get to be with people who remember them too. Aunt Cheryl and I rode around on Friday to see what some of the old home places look like now. Since those were her grandparents she told stories again of things she remembered about them. Very special it is to have people to hear those from. :-)

I forgot my camera that day we were out riding. I kept wishing I had it with me so I could post some photos... but, I didn't. Another time maybe.

Afternoon all. Back from church. Trying to convince myself that yes, yes I do need to get back to work in the yard. Still gotta divide them 4 O'clocks.

I'd rather nap until about 4 o'clock.

WN - I'll post some real pictures next week. Wife has the digital camera at the reunion. She's learnin' to use it so she can take it to Slovakia next month.
