One of the Girl Scout leaders got bitten by a brown recluse spider on the Encampment we went on weekend before last. She's got a NASTY looking area on her forehead where it bit her. It had been in her sleeping bag. I made sure to roll my bag up tight before I left the tent in the morning so no critters had a chance to move in while I was gone!
I'd like to see the entmoot video too!!
I've been a baaaaaaaad hobbit. Just finished up the cherry and chocolate chip ice cream.
Well g'nad's got his own built in campground!! We could do archery and shooting, too!!

Yikes! I washed my sheets and turned over the mattress--no sign of Shelob :) Hope it doesn't come back when I'm sleeping, though. . .I'm having visions of that scene in Dr. No where the tarantula crawls up Sean Connery! :)
OT; yup, that's about right. St. Louis would be a much better destination for the flying-in crowd.
There is good fishing round those parts, Montauk isn't too far as I recall, and Bennet Springs isn't either.
I reckon I could contribute a smoke-pole or two and some osage bows and cedar arrows a to the armoury. I got some extra fishing tackle as well.
Jen; MO is only a fairly good long day drive from Colorful Colorado. (you're mostly going across Kansas and it's down hill all the way) :-)
EEEeevenin' all! [sip]
A good friend of mine was a Navy corpsman, spent a lot of time training in the jungles of panama with the Marines. He told stories of the "banana spiders" there. Big yellow jobs, the size of salad plates. They were harmless really, but they liked to crawl into warm, tight places... like sleeping bags. the guys would wake up in the morning with six of 'em in the bag with 'em.
Just hearing the story gave me a case of the willies that lasted a week or so. [shudder]
Look at my wedding Shooooes!
Ain't they cute?
I sewed the flowers on myself! ~grins~
Girl clothes. :-)
I'M BACK!
I had to hang out some laundry on the line.
Yeah.... girl clothes ;~D
Pretty! There's still gonna be a live feed right?
Hi Ramius! Haven't visited with you in a while!
Well, we still need to take action on the webcam, but we think so!
I'm dying for a bowl of popcorn! I have ice cream I can have...Blue Bunny Carb Freedom, vanilla bars dipped in chocolate and almonds.
But I don't want ice cream! I want popcorn!
Hey there 2J!! Yeah, long time no chat. I've tried to keep up with the thread but I miss much. How's da cheekens?
Mmmmmmmm.....popcorn. I think I've already blown my carb budget for the day. :)
'Evening.
The ficus is liking the patio so far...it's putting out new leaves.
And my Christmas cactus is blooming.
We call 'em shickens around here...cracks up the jedis.
They are doing good...we get 'tween 3-4 eggs a day now!
Glad there's no banana spiders here! Yeah, the creepy part is that they like to crawl into sleeping bags and such. I knew there were some in the basement but didn't think there were any up here in the bedroom. Guess I know better now. . .
