The Hobbit Hole IX - A sudden tree or standing stone

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It'd be camping either way, no?

I know Margaret keeps saying she wants to visit thegirl and see where you folks live...so that'd be awesome, too.

The only question I'd have, though, if we DID do that...is there any airport nearby for those of us that'd be coming in that way?

oops. looks like I volunteered for something

Seriesly, let me get out there and I can check stuff out, if we wanna do that. It could be really cool. One thing to consider is again doing the Moot during the off-season - any time that's not the summer will have to be cheaper, right?

Or we can go pick on g'nad. His wife's a much better cook than I am, you know.

Well, it was black, so I'm hoping that means it wasn't a recluse. Unfortunately I don't know enough about spider identification to know if there are non-brown types of recluses. It was fairly large, though not huge.

Heh...maybe we should plan Missouri Mootstock without givin' g'nad the dates. We can just all descend on them en masse and unexpectedly.

Ladies and Gentleman, the better looking, better smelling dwarf rises for the purpose of a motion:

I hereby move that JenB assume the role of "Chair, Entmoot '05" and that she be conferred with all the rights and privileges therein.

y'all 'er welcome here... we got the space, room fer campers, open floor plan, springfed river 15 minutes away, Branson and Silver Dollar City and hour and a half away, Six Flags two hours away, bluegrass music, God fearin' folk, and a dozen drive thru likker stores in town...

Colorado sounds good too...

Well, when you put it THAT way...

*snif* Sometimes I think I oughta just move someplace like that. This is a nice part of the state (read conservative), but people keep to themselves more than in the midwest, and the politics are dictated from above.

Not sure what it might've been then.
Crush to be on the safe side.
Had a Minnow Spider the size of my hand try to run up my pantleg once.
They look something like huge wolf spiders or grass spiders.
I stomped the snot outta him until he was flatter'n a pancake.

We think so too Rosie. ;-)

Hope I'm not buttin' in too much. I know yer home, but there's a lot of opportunities out there.

I'll hush now.

Other than the bluegrass music, sounds like my kinda place.

Airport could be tricky, but we made it work at Entmoot04, right?

The dates could be... tricksy, for me, anyway, depending on when we do this. I don't imagine I can just take a week off school, and next summer I'd darn well better have a high-paying internship or I'm in trouble. When are we thinking, anyway?
