Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh...I think Jr. and Suzi are the only ones who look completely "with it" in that picture.
I really don't like myself in ANY of the Entmoot pictures. Hopefully I'll feel better about the next one.
But my GOSH I miss Entmoot! That felt like home by the end of the week. Just looking at the picture makes me homesick. *snif*

She better not have!
I hadn't realized you got that on tape, Ruthy! I know we'd LOVE to have it, if you're ever able to make copies. Along with anything else you managed to tape!

BTW I meant to mention I had kind of an unnerving experience today. I was rearranging my bedsheets when this big spider ran out from under the covers and then ran under another cover so deep I couldn't find him again. Now I'm not particularly afraid of spiders, but I've recently seen some pictures of brown recluse spider bites which can get pretty nasty (if you have a strong stomach, see
Brown Recluse), and I know there are recluses around here and they like to hide under covers, so I'm a little wary. I couldn't tell what species the spider was, unfortunately.

I feel the same way, sis. And the thing is, nobody understands just how cool it was, unless you were actually there.

I definitely want to make copies for everyone, but I haven't been able to figure out the software.
Thanks to Fedora, I may have found a quick way to do it.

I'll ask my sister if she will go with me to the store and get that Firewire thing-a-ma-gig!I hope it's as easy as it sounds :) Please check with some of the more computer-savvy folks before you go buying anything based on my information, though--I don't know much about it and there may be more info you should know before making a purchase--would hate to see you buy something that didn't work right.

I think that was during "The Fellowship." I think I ended up in the Old Man Willow seat for TTT (and pretty sure I slept through Helm's Deep).

Was that the very first night, right after Sam brought the Entmoot banner?
That was such a cool moment!
