Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I don't doubt that. I would love to have a 20 gauge also but I don't get to hunt much. I freely admit that 12 gauge kills me to shoot very much. I am just stuck on it from the home protection standpoint. If I had money to spend and opportunity to hunt I would really want something else.
My dad gave Myranda a 20 gauge for Christmas year before last. I am tickled that he did that. She enjoys hunting and has more opportunity to do so than I do. AND now, she and my dad are skeet shooting every Saturday that Myranda doesn't work so it's a good little shotgun for her to have.
I am terribly glad that I have managed to raise a daughter so adamantly pro-2nd amendment.

I've had this same old tagline FOREVER.
I need to think up a new one by the end of the day.
Both you and Hair got good ones!

I understand Ruthy... I stick a tagline in and forget it. People who are always thinkin' up new ones are more creative than I. Rose gets the award for best creative use of taglines... She adds a new zinger to every post!

I am going to be around most of the time. I am sure going to be there until after Ruthy leaves.
I'm kinda playing things by ear for the end of the week. I told Chad's mom, Nancy that I would be over there for 1 day and night. I am thinkin' that I might need to get on the road and drive on the 24th... that will be the one year anniversary of Grama's death. I dunno what to expect to come attackin' me from my emotional stash of crap but I usually like to get out and drive (or ride my bike) when that kind of junk jumps up to haunt me. I was thinkin' I might need it that day.
Nancy lives in Sunnyside and my mother-in-law (Ruthy) lives in Benton City. I figure that would be plenty of driving to deal with crappy emotional stuff. If I need it that day.

Sounds awesome to me! I'm pro-2nd amendment, yet I've never fired a shot. Sheesh! I never had a doubt! :-)

OK - If the thread is all asleep, it at least needs a night light.
Ayyyyyyy! Although the Fonz thinks the new tagline is pretty cool, no way am I gonna let them make Fonzie-shaped nightlights! I don't know what Cunningham has been telling you, but the Fonz has never used a nightlight because he's not scared of the dark, capice?

I forget the taglines too.
And I love Rose's.... but sometimes I even forget to read hers! And I know I miss out when I do.
Hmmmmm.... did anybody see what I changed mine to at 3AM this morning? HAIR? ECURBH?
