Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Did you note in the above picture that Ecurbh seems to be riding past a papaya tree?LOL! Yes, We have ~no~ Papayas! Those visible big trunks are all Alders... the big-leafed small stuff in the foreground are upstart Maples.

Interesting thing about that phone line was that one of my uncles helped install that phone line on those fence rows in the '50's. He took me out and showed me the lines right after I bought the place. Kinda cool. Back then, they wanted phone lines out there and the men of the community just got together and ran the lines.

Actually I'm about to start Disc 5--for some reason when I typed that I had it in my head that you only sent the first 5 discs rather than the first 6. You're right, I actually have two more discs to watch! But in any case I should be done with Disc 6 by late tomorrow.

mmmm...car bombs... Yah'know... I'm embarrassed to admit that I've only recently learned the difference between the politics of Bushmills and Jameson.
Downtown Seattle there's a very, very Irish bar run by a very, very Irishman. Called Kell's. It's an IRA sort of Irish bar. It's very important that you only order Jameson, and never Bushmills in that sort of place. Never order Bushmills in an IRA bar. You might not get out again.
Lucky me, I never thot to order anything but Guinness.
