Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Thanks Ruthy! - Hey I just noticed in last night's posts about your new rig! I think it is pretty cool. Not silly at all!

We got into some salsa that made me sweat a bit- good stuff. The Murl-lenders couldn't hack it, ergo more for me!
I had forgotton how cheap you can eat out there. $7.50 buys a plate big enough to stuff me silly. Big'ol took me out for cajun last nite after picking me up at the airport (he's such a sweetie) and it was twice as pricey for a smaller plate. Argh. East Coast livin' is not for me.

Thanks Hair! I'm growing attached to Ginger already, even though I still stop for a moment when I walk out of the house every morning when I realize Betsy is gone.
I miss that old truck!

Who knows? I may be a product of indiscriminate hobbit breeding.

Oh that was so sweet of Big Ol to take you out last night! And Cajun is yummy too!
I know what you mean about Mexican! It doesn't take much cash to fill ya up good. Not a bad bargain for flavor vs dollars at all! Maybe the best bargain there is!

I was going to respond to you in the last thread, but was hastily removed! *smile*
Becky was tearful about leaving Betsy behind (so was I), so I told her we needed to give the Rav4 a name. She thought for a split second and said "Ginger". So Ginger it is!

Wneighbor: the elves are always bumping their heads on the cieling and leaving their bows in the hall, but as long as they bring
lembas to go with the eggs and rashers of bacon, no problem.
Rosie: "Strange as news from Bree" was the idea :)
Hair: I might have one laying about at the house. Won't be back there until late this eve. Thanks for thinkin' of me that way :)
